To update the Firmware of the Control Unit you need:
1. Pessl Instr. Firmware Uploader (FW Uploader)
2. Micro USB cable to connect the main boards to the PC or Notebook
3. latest version of the Firmware (FW) for the control Unit

To manually upload the firmware on the station, please follow the given next steps: 

  1. Unplug the battery and solar panel and control unit cable
  2. Open the program Firmware uploader
  3. On "Select FW" sellect the correct FW for the station e.g:
    Firmware_camcontrolunitv_3.3.1.20210528.production.bin


  4. On “Device” select the correct device- in this case Camera Control Unit


  5. Connect the PC (Computer) to the PCB (station) (USB Cable red square) and make sure that there are not other USB cables connected to your PC. Windows will automatically assign a COM port to your device.


  6. Click “Open Port” and wait until "External Camera Control Unit. OK" appears. From the moment you plug the USB in, you have 5 seconds to click on Open Port or Upload FW. If you have clicked on Upload FW directly, scroll down to the topic #8.


  7. Now Click “Upload FW”
  8. As soon as you see the message “Upload process done”, you’re finished. 


  9. Click “Close Port” 
  10. Remove the USB cable 

    Important note:
    The complete monitoring of the communication process should take place after each installation by connecting the PC to the Camera. The installer should never leave the site without performing a sensor test and communication process log.
