PI Wind Direction - Calibration for METOS 5 and μMETOS

Modified on Thu, 5 Mar at 10:43 AM

This article explains when and how to use the calibration option for the PI Wind Direction sensor on METOS 5 and μMETOS devices.

Important Notes Before You Start

1. PI wind direction sensors are factory‑calibrated, and in most cases no user action is required.
However, METOS 5 and μMETOS devices provide an additional calibration function for special situations where the sensor must be aligned or recalibrated at the final installation site.

2. The additional calibration option available in:

  • METOS 5

  • μMETOS

3. Recalibration should be performed at the installer’s discretion, typically in situations such as:

  • Reinstallation or repositioning of the sensor

  • Alignment adjustments after mounting

  • Site-specific structural influences affecting direction accuracy

➡️ If the sensor is properly installed and aligned to true North, recalibration is generally not necessary.
